Orthopedic Expert Witnesses for Complex Litigation
Board-certified orthopedic surgeons in active clinical practice providing independent, evidence-based analysis of musculoskeletal injuries, orthopedic treatment and surgical care.
Experienced Orthopedic Analysis for High-Stakes Cases
Significant orthopedic litigation requires more than a résumé. Counsel needs a physician who can understand the medicine, identify the issues that matter, explain complex findings clearly and support every opinion with sound clinical reasoning.
Atlanta Bone & Joint Specialists provides orthopedic expert review through board-certified surgeons who remain actively involved in patient care, surgery, hospital leadership and the evaluation of complex musculoskeletal conditions.
Independent Means Independent
Our role is not to advocate for a predetermined result. We evaluate the available records, imaging, examination findings and treatment history, then provide an opinion based on the medical evidence and our clinical experience. We consider appropriate matters from both plaintiff and defense counsel.
Clear, Organized and Clinically Grounded Review
The precise scope of an engagement is determined after conflict screening and an initial review of the case.
Preliminary Case Review
Initial assessment of the orthopedic issues, available records, imaging and whether the matter falls within the physician’s expertise.
Medical Record Analysis
Review of treatment chronology, diagnoses, imaging, operative reports, rehabilitation, complications and relevant prior history.
Independent Medical Examinations
Focused orthopedic evaluation when an in-person examination is appropriate and included within the engagement.
Causation and Apportionment
Analysis of whether the condition is consistent with the reported mechanism, objective findings and relevant preexisting disease.
Treatment and Prognosis
Evaluation of treatment, surgical indications, expected recovery, future orthopedic care and long-term functional impact.
Reports and Testimony
Written opinions, deposition preparation, deposition testimony and trial testimony when requested and appropriate.
Cases Within Our Clinical Scope
Our physicians evaluate matters involving injuries and treatment of the extremities and major joints, including complex surgical and postoperative issues.
Spine Cases Are Not Accepted
We do not provide expert witness opinions for cervical, thoracic or lumbar spine-only matters. Cases involving both orthopedic extremity injuries and spine complaints may be considered only when our requested opinions are limited to the non-spine orthopedic issues.
Experienced Surgeons Trusted With Hospital Leadership
Each of our orthopedic surgeons has served as a Chief of Orthopaedics at an Atlanta-area hospital, reflecting longstanding clinical experience, peer leadership and familiarity with standards of orthopedic care.
